Coming out of the need for a comfortable embrace that reminds me of my pastoral hometown and the sheep used to have before the economic crisis in Turkey, I came up with the Kneeling Sheep Chair. I used the vulnerable anatomy of a lamb kneeling to drink milk from the mother in order to create a form to sit on, paralleling the dichotomy of comfort born out of homesickness. The hand carving of the legs has a reference to the handmade. almost machine-free traditions of woodworking still present in my rural hometown Hoskoy.
